The test covers:
- Uses of Water – 8 marks: interpreting a pie chart showing household water use, identifying ways to save water and understanding how water is used in homes, farming, recreation and factories.
- Water as a Resource – 8 marks: the water cycle, including evaporation, condensation, precipitation, oceans and underground water. Learners also explore why water needs to be stored and different methods of storing it.
- How People Get Their Water – 9 marks: collecting water from rivers, streams and springs, using boreholes to access underground water and understanding how water travels from dams to purification plants, reservoirs and household taps.
- Water Access: understanding why water trucks may be needed to supply clean water to communities without reliable water sources.
Question types include: graph interpretation, diagram labelling, short-answer questions, explanations and application questions.
