About this resource

Help your Grade 7 learner prepare for their Term 3 Mathematics assessment with this 50-mark practice test, complete with a full memorandum. The test has a duration of 1 hour, is completed without a calculator, and encourages learners to show all their working.

The test covers:

  • Measuring and constructing angles
  • Calculating unknown angles
  • Acute, obtuse and right angles
  • Parallel and perpendicular lines
  • Line segments and rays
  • Constructing triangles
  • Properties of 2D shapes
  • Similar and congruent shapes
  • Equilateral and isosceles triangles
  • Parts of a circle
  • Transformations
  • Reflection, rotation and translation
  • Enlargement and reduction
  • Lines of symmetry
  • Solving geometry problems
  • Perimeter and area

The paper includes plenty of practical geometry and visual activities, where learners construct shapes, classify angles, identify parts of circles and work directly with diagrams and grids.

The Transformations section gives learners practice with enlargement, reflection, translation and rotation, including drawing transformations on grids and describing movement from one position to another.

The final section applies geometry to problem-solving, including calculating the side length of an equilateral triangle and finding the new area of a rectangle after a reduction.

Total: 50 marks | Duration: 1 hour | No calculator | Full memorandum included | PDF format.
